<> HOTBED OF MILITANCY DISTRICT <> Childern in Conflict <>
Related to country: India

<> <> HOTBED OF MILITANCY DISTRICT<><>
<> CHILDREN IN CONFLICT  <>

<> Children being the most innocent and vulnerable victims of the conflict, are our only link to the future. While we have no right to deprive them of a ‘normal’ and healthy future, it is our moral duty that we try our best to undo the damage that has been done for no fault of theirs.  Though
Borderless world foundation [BWF] for one great human family
intends to work in various areas, working for children in conflict areas and situations has been there prime focus.

<> They strive for a beautiful borderless world - One Great Human Family, with a sense of responsibility and collective voluntary action, to alleviate the poor and the needy, the abandoned and the deprived, the suffering and the victimized of the border areas of India and beyond, towards their physical, psychological, educational, economical, social and political well being.  -[ bharati mamani ]

<> The state of Jammu and Kashmir proved to be a classic example of a ‘Human Tragedy’. Loss of human life, thousands of children being orphaned, scores of thousands of them forced to drop out of childhood- the future is hardly visible. The duo decided to start working as full timers for the interior or the frontier areas of the State with focus on children as they are the most vulnerable victims of conflicts.

<> The figure to 25,000. The present sensitive conditions, for which the district is better known as the hotbed of militancy, have prevented the government departments and agencies from conducting the much needed surveys.

<> The River Kishanganga considered as LOC by India & Pakistan, separating both nations, mountains, many villages into halves; but not the hearts of the People of these areas. This fact has made there commit to strive for a borderless world.

<> For the rights and needs based, comprehensive rehabilitation project was launched in Village Sulkoote in the frontier district Kupwara on May 12, 2002. It was the first of its kind (exclusively for girls) in the Kashmir valley.

<> The Projects BeT is an abode which belongs to the girls without parents whom the society calls as ‘orphans’. These children have lost their parents as victims of militancy, due to illness and accidental deaths. Established to fight for the basic rights (to survival, protection, development and participation) of the girl-child and the word ‘orphan’ itself (as it brings a deep seated psychological scar to the child’s entire life) BeT works towards their physical and psychological recovery and social reintegration.

<> BeT has 25 girls at present, the age group ranging from 3 to 13 years. Each girl will be provided a healthy environment to grow on to become a major, when she will be capable of deciding her future. The girls study in private and government schools and have excelled in their respective classes. Local women and men are employed to run the Home and the advisory committee of 15 members along with the youth executive committee ensures its smooth running.

<> We are happy that God has given us this opportunity to bring back the smiles on the faces of the children who are the most innocent and vulnerable victims of the ongoing conflict.
This is a peoples’ movement and they are working towards building effective community participation, all they can recall is, “when God is with us, who can be against us?

<> Bwf depends entirely on the  voluntary contributions by concerned individuals to run its projects.
They need people like you to help build a world fit for the children in need. Your involvement can
bring a difference in their lives. You could choose any of these ways:

(1) BW Friends, (2) Support a child, (3) Donation In Kind,(4) Adopt a Home

<> Its only have one Project Basera-e-Tabassum (meaning Abode of Smiles) was launched on May 12, 2002 for the comprehensive rehabilitation of girl children esp. orphans. It’s a right and needs based project and has 25 girls at present in the Home at Village Sulkoote; district Kupwara, J & K. It was a real challenge to establish that Home.

<> This project aims to address the girl-child esp. orphans in particular.
Orphans: children without both the parents, with single parent, children of victims of militancy, children orphaned due to natural calamities, children of militants, children of security forces.
Destitute-abandoned children: A child’s either of the both parents’ alive remarries or leaves them behind, illegitimate children.

<> They would need direction and guidance which could give them an option for a ‘normal life’. It is important to note that when we mean ‘orphan’, even if the child has his/her mother alive, he/she is considered as an orphan in the state. According to Islam, the child is an orphan once the bread earner of the household deceases.

<> BWF has not received any direct government funding as yet. BWF has been operating and carrying on its projects with the help and support from individuals who are sensitive towards BWF’s cause and from a few NGOs.

<>  BWF has been raising its resources from concerned individuals and organizations in the form of sponsors for a child’s or a group of children’s either education or food or clothing or medical expenses. The support is monetary and accepted only in cheque. The other source is in kind, in the form of books and other school stationery, fabric for clothing, warm clothing for the winters.

Your small contribution makes a difference? and yes >> It will go on to make a huge difference. Sure it will. If each one of us will think about it and decide to make a difference it will bring in a sea change. Even if it is a single rupee or a dollar, it could pay for a child's education and health for a day. And, then remember, it is single drops when collected together add up to an ocean! As far as our efforts are concerned, someone has to begin something from somewhere for someone in need!

<> BWF will be extending its services to any country that calls for voluntary action and realize its dream of a beautiful Borderless World with One Great Human Family.

 <> A U T O G R A P H 'YOUR WORK WITH EXCELLENCE<>
,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,

<><>  It is not my intention to change your mind about your perception of ALLAH, God.

I wanted only to show you how I came to the beliefs
I possess and provide a foundation for
the technique of attracting abundance in your life.
,
<><>  Claiming Your Birthright A U T O G R A P H 'YOUR WORK WITH EXCELLENCE.

ALLAH God is all that is! There is nothing, not a thing in the Universe, that is not God. You, me, the rocks, all life on this planet, everything is made up of atoms with electrons circling neutrons like miniature solar systems. The atoms of everything that exists are held together by the same life force that gives you life.

<><>  You are a part of it all. You, me, everything, is God and you can no more be separated from God than you can be separated from your own skin. Just as any loving parent would not deny their child anything they desire, God will not deny you anything you desire and never give up hope God’s Soothing Mercy:
Truly no one despairs of God’s Soothing Mercy, except those who have no faith.” (Quran: 12:87)

<><> To do so would be to deny himself. God wants us to be happy and prosperous, not suffering from poverty and lack. There is far too much of that in the world already and we do not need you or me to add to the burden of lack in the world. Poverty, pain, sickness, in fact, all the ailments of mankind are not God's choice for us.

<><> We create our own burdens by what we believe and the choices we make! That is what is meant by our "Free Will.' , We choose our own reality and we make that choice based upon what we believe! If you are experiencing the lack of anything, it is because you have chosen that particular challenge.

<><> Please, challenge me on this; is there anything in your life that you have not chosen to be there? If you do not have good health, could it be because you failed at one time or another to take the proper safeguards with your health? Or, if you were born with a physical challenge, you may have chosen that challenge before you were born for a reason known only to you.

<><> Unless you are in a coma you have no excuse to quit! You are living a life of your own choices! You experienced your choices yesterday, are experiencing them today and you will continue to do so
tomorrow.

<><> Why not choose life instead of simple existence? If you are experiencing a lack of money, you probably have not learned what you need to do to attract it into your reality and you probably have a negative belief associated with an abundant money supply.

<><> Did you ever hear this one? "It is easier for a camel to pass through the eye of a needle than for a rich man to enter the kingdom of heaven." Do you believe that? Have you ever really thought about what it means? Could beliefs like this be holding you back? Think about it.

<><>  If you are unhappy with any part of your life all you have to do is change it.<> It is that simple. I know there are circumstances or reasons why you cannot change, but you need to know that if you do not change, you have still made a choice.

<><> If you do not have enough money, examine your beliefs about money and change them to allow you to attract more money into your life. If you are lonely, you will probably find that it is by your own choice. If you want love or friendship you must give it freely.

<><>  Choose! Everything you want is already yours to enjoy. <> It is not my intention to minimize any problems or "challenges" you may be experiencing. I only want you to see that you are the creator of your reality. Be happy with what you have.

<><>  I have interviewed many people during the research for this Projects . <>  I like to talk to older, retired people and I ask them what their beliefs are about successful living. Surprisingly, many of them answered that question the same way. These are Abadalla K.'s words: (1) "You have to be happy with what you have. (2) I don't mean you should quit trying to better yourself, you must never do that, but be happy with the possessions you have."

<><>  It is important to acknowledge the things you have and be thankful for them. No matter how meager or magnificent your possessions are, they are yours! Add to your possessions the gifts of our society. We have unlimited libraries to use free of charge. We have a system of highways that will allow us to travel from coast to coast without paying a cent.

<><> For the price of a television and the electricity to operate it we have entertainment in our homes twenty-four hours a day. I could go on and on about all we have as a result of our co-operative society. "Thank you, oh Lord, for these, Thy gifts we are about to receive in Thy bounty."

<><> This is a mealtime prayer spoken by millions of Christians before they eat the meal that has been prepared and spread before them. The words are not an accident, but unfortunately the words are usually said in a robotic manner, with no thought for what they mean. Spoken with feeling and sincerity the words acknowledge the gifts of food, provided by God from His bounty. When you say these words you are doing more than just saying "thank you,"

<><>  you are acknowledging God. You are acknowledging His ability to provide for you. It may be true that you worked very hard for the money to purchase the meal, but it is by the "Grace of God" that you were able to work and able to buy the ingredients for the meal. Prayer is important in attracting the abundance of God. Its said, "the Kingdom of God is within you."

<><>  When we pray we are opening a channel to the God Energy within all of us. Its also said, "If you ask anything in Allah Name , He will do it." He did not qualify that statement in any way! He said, "If you ask anything in my name, I will do it."

<><> The Bible, the Quran , the Torah teaches us to pray in this manner: state your prayer to God, Allah , then go about your affairs as though your prayer has already been answered. Believe that your prayer will be answered and it will be answered. Another part of attracting abundance is your ability to give freely, with no expectation of repayment or acknowledgment.

<><> The principle is simple, you must give in order to receive.<> What you give freely will be returned to you tenfold. That does not mean you should give away all of your possessions so you can get ten times as much as you now have; make sure you understand that! It does not mean that you must give from an already meager money supply if it will hurt you, or someone you love.

<><>  If you can afford to give money, give money if you want to. If you cannot afford to give money you can find other ways to give. For example, you can do volunteer work; you can give a sandwich to a homeless person; you can ask an elderly neighbor if he or she needs anything at the store the next time you go. These are gifts of yourself; your time and efforts and they are much more important than money. You do not have to give money! There are religious organizations that require giving a certain percentage of your income to the church in order to be a member.

<><> This practice is called Tithing. I looked it up in my dictionary: "Tithe (tyth) noun; 1. A tenth part of one's annual income or produce, either in kind or money, contributed voluntarily for charitable purposes or due as a tax for the support of the clergy or church."

<><> This is a very old practice and it is still practiced by some churches around the world. My problem with tithing is the requirement of the gift. When it is required as a condition of membership
Fees, it is a tax, a membership price and can be resented by the giver.

<><>  This is not giving freely! Another problem I can see with required tithing is, it can often take monetary means from families in need.

<><> Taking Action <><>

1 - Make a list of all you own. Make a list of everything you own now. Include everything you have that has value. List your car, your home, your furniture, your toys, your clothing, everthing you would lose if a fire or a tornado wiped you out. It will probably surprise you when you realize how much you have. Most Americans have much more than they realize. Even criminals confined to prison walls have possessions. Homeless people pushing grocery carts piled high with all their possessions know the value of ordinary things.

2 - Make a list of all the public services you gets that you can think of. No short-cuts! Making a list of
every service available to you makes you aware of their existence.
These are yours and they are real possessions.

3 - Hang these lists on the wall and memorize them. Make sure you stay aware of the wealth you possess. Remind yourself of the things you have whenever you start feeling sorry for yourself for not having the latest gadget or fad.

4 - Look for ways to give of yourself. Start today! There are many ways for you to give of yourself. You can give blood to the Red Cross. You can make cookies for a family with small children. Use your imagination. There is a magic in giving that allows you to see the abundance in your own life. When you become aware of your current true wealth more will be made available to you. You will also get a joyous feeling for yourself. One thing that is very important, do not tell anyone else about your gift! When you tell others you are bragging and it will diminish the gift.

5 - Make peace with ,Allah, God . Everyone, even so-called atheists, believes in something. We have the freedom to praise Allah God in a manner of our own choice. If you have not already discovered your own beliefs, keep trying. It is important. Remember Allah's words, "If you cannot believe in Allah, believe in the work that he done ."

6 - Create a habit of prayer. Give thanks every day for all you have. Give thanks for your health. Give thanks for the food you eat. As well as expressing gratitude to Allah God, you are reminding yourself of your current abundance. Do not be afraid to ask Allah God for increased abundance in your life.

Australian Carpetbagger Steak

<> You need thick New York sirloins to do this dish properly. How this dish came by its name is lost in time, (some say it is an American invention) but carpetbagger steaks are an Australian specialty - the word derives from the bags that people carried their valuables in when they emigrated.
Serve with sautéed mushrooms and grilled potatoes.

INGREDIENTS :-

1/4 cup (50 mL) butter
16 shucked oysters
1 tsp (5 mL) hot pepper sauce
2 tsp (10 mL) grated lemon rind
1/2 cup (125 mL) chopped chives
2 to 3 tbsp (25 to 45 mL) fresh breadcrumbs
Salt and freshly ground pepper
4 New York sirloin steaks, about 10 oz (300 g) each
2 tbsp (25 mL) vegetable oil
Garnish
1 bunch watercress
1 tbsp (15 mL) balsamic vinegar
1 tbsp (15 mL) olive oil
Salt and freshly ground pepper

Walk the line Where the truth Lies direction given:-
1. Heat butter in skillet over medium heat. Add oysters, hot pepper sauce, lemon rind and chives.
Sauté until edges of oysters begin to curl, about 1 minute. Stir in enough breadcrumbs to absorb any juices.
Season with salt and pepper. Remove to plate and cool.
2. Make a pocket on the long side of the steak, opposite the fat, leaving a 1/2-inch (1-cm) border on each side.
Do not cut through the fat side. Stuff 4 oysters into each steak. Use a toothpick to skewer together the opening.
3. Preheat grill to high. Brush steak with oil and season with salt and pepper. Place on grill.
Grill 4 to 5 minutes per side, turning once, or until juices just begin to appear on top. The steak should be medium-rare for the best taste.
4. While steak is cooking, trim stems from watercress and toss leaves with vinegar and oil.
Season with salt and pepper. Place on plates and serve alongside the steak.
Serves 4

1 tsp (5 mL) ground cumin
2 cloves garlic, chopped
1 tsp (15 mL) lemon juice
1 tbsp (15 mL) chopped fresh parsley
1 tbsp (15 mL) chopped fresh coriander
2 tbsp (25 mL) olive oil
8 lamb loin chops, 1-inch (2.5-cm) thick, trimmed
Salt and freshly ground pepper to taste
1. Combine cumin, garlic, lemon juice, parsley, coriander and olive oil in a bowl.
Brush onto both sides of lamb chops and season with salt and pepper. Marinate 30 minutes while you prepare the rest of the meal.
2. Preheat oven to 500°F (260°C). Place lamb chops on a baking sheet. Place in oven and leave for 3 minutes.
Turn oven off and leave lamb chops for 15 minutes for rare, 25 for medium. Do not open oven.
3. Remove from oven and place on couscous.
